Summer buys F 13.67: Changan Ford Automobile, Ford's passenger car joint venture, sold 59,651 vehicles in August, a one percent decrease compared to 2014. CAF sold 512,377 vehicles from January to August, steady compared to the same time last year.

When Ford released monthly sales figures for China earlier in September, investors' concerns over the weakness of the Chinese auto market were indeed affirmed. Ford is already seeing lower sales in China, but things can always get worse. Because investors fear a prolonged slowdown in the Chinese economy, which could negatively impact Ford's sales. China, however, poses more than a challenge for auto manufacturers, including Ford Motor. Since car companies have reported growing average transaction prices and rising vehicle sales in the U.S. in the first half of 2015, the United States are not a source of concern for investors.

Bernetta:
On the back of strong F-Series sales, Ford Motor also had the best August sales results since 2006. General Motors, on the other hand, saw August sales decrease 0.7% year-over-year, but retail sales remained strong nonetheless.

Mindy:
Pickups are doing especially well with American consumers and lower gas prices only contribute to growing demand for them.

Dallas:
Ford Motor, for instance, reported 5.4% higher August U.S. sales compared to last year thanks to new product launches.

Janene:
The U.S. enjoys a strong economic upturn, and it is pulling auto companies along with it.

Neely:
China's slowing growth won't be a major issue for Ford in the long haul.

Lourdes:
Sales and passenger car registration growth make me optimistic that Ford is on track to a record year.

Tyra:
In contrast, Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jones holds the most bearish sentiment.

Merrilee:
Langan assigned a Buy rating to the stock, and projects it to rise to $23 by the year end.

Andria:
UBS analyst Colin Langan holds the most bullish sentiment on Ford stock.

Blanch:
The 12-month consensus target price (TP) is $17.31, with a 26% return potential.
