Clarisa sells HMSY 10.06: AHCA is the fifth largest state Medicaid program in the U.S., as measured by total spend.

The five-year contract runs through August 2020 and includes an extension option of up to five additional years. As a result of the Company's services, our customers recover billions of dollars every year and save billions more through the prevention of erroneous payments. HMS Holdings Corp., through its subsidiaries, provides coordination of benefits and payment integrity services for payers. Under provisions of the contract, HMS is scheduled to provide coordination of benefits to maximize cost savings from third party collections for the State's 825,000 SoonerCare members. Shares of HMS were up 18% at $10.43 on Monday afternoon.

So far on the year shares of HMS have far underperformed the market.

Georgiann:
Based on the solicitation, the proposed contract is expected to be for a term of five years, commencing January 7, 2016 through January 6, 2021, with an option to extend the term for two additional one-year periods.

OMIG advised HMS that it had determined that HMS is the provider of the best value solution for solicitation number OMIG 15-01. The award is contingent upon the successful execution of a contract.

At the same time the company posted revenues of $116.9 million which beat the street forecasts of $114.5 million.

The company had $0.13 in earnings per share just below the consensus estimate of $0.14 per share.

Last month's announcement caused the stock to drop hard, but it should be noted that the company's board of directors did step in and authorize a $75 million share repurchase program to take advantage of the weakness in the share price.

The new contract is expected to start on January 7th, 2016, and lasts for 5 years, but it does have the potential to be extended for up to two years beyond that.

The release stated that the agency determined that HMS was found to be the best value among the companies competing for the award.

Joette:
One analyst has rated the stock with a sell rating, two have given a hold rating and four have given a buy rating to the company.
